Big Ideas Series

Over the course of a few years I drew hundreds of drawings illustrating weird, wonderful and disgusting facts for Arcturus’ Big Ideas series. Great crew to work with and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to draw just about every sort of thing!

It was also a project that took me on a transitional journey from producing pictures with vector graphics to making them on paper again. It was work-intensive considering all the moments of sketching, tracing in ink, scanning, correcting and then colouring in black and white. I had to sort of learn to draw with my hands again. Luckily, I found out that drawing by hand was much more agreeable than working on the computer with a wacom pad. Too much clicking and correcting every little pixel? Maybe.

Once I got my hands on an iPad, I never looked back. I think it captures the movement better than inking on paper, for some reason. Plus! The pen never runs dry. So many pens in the bin….
